Fanchon Marie isn’t interested in getting married, regardless of what it will do for her family. Fascinated by the lips of her intended, she is still determined to resist him. But he seems to sense that her body is betraying her determination to avoid joining with him. And he will do everything in his power to exploit that weakness.
Luca Dobrogea wants Fanchon Marie and he will have her for her power as a voodoo princess and for her body. But others would stop him. Will he be able to take her, claim her, and make her his before another man is able to? And can he tame her before he is driven to take what he so desperately needs…
With sex as steamy as summer in New Orleans, this story is full of Luca and Fanchon throwing sparks while they fight and make love with equal passion. Magic and mayhem try to keep them apart but their feelings keep drawing them back together. Will that tenderness be enough?
Although some sexy scenes had me fanning myself, quite a bit of the storytelling was jagged, almost jumping from scene to scene, in a way that was somewhat confusing. It made it a little hard for this reader to really identify and feel for the characters when I spent part of the time trying to keep up with what was going on. Again, though, the passion was off the charts and the magic was fun and fresh so it was an interesting read.
