Victoria is a modern day woman that literally falls into the arms of her lover; she is head strong and stubborn and will allow no man to order her around. After coming to terms that her missing friends are not missing, but have rather found love in the past, Victoria will be forced to pick between her modern life and a Civil War romance that leaves her breathless.
Quincy is a soldier in the middle of a battle, and the last thing he expects is a woman to fall into his arms. He thinks, at first, that she is a spy or a rebel but quickly realizes that this ball of energy is no spy but is rather sent back to save him and to steal his heart!
The Rebel Bride is an engaging story about love defeating everything, even time. Victoria and Quincy feel an instant attraction to one another, but there are several hurdles that must be overcome. Victoria has been hurt in the past and Quincy will have to prove that he is the man for her and that compromise is the language of love!
I really enjoyed The Rebel Bride, I have read the four prior novels as well and I do recommend reading them in order if possible. Each novel is stand alone, but reading them in order adds a depth to the characters that truly makes the stories come alive. Quincy and Victoria will make you laugh and cry. They are two very headstrong people that remind me a lot of most modern day relationships. The aspect that I enjoyed the most was the tease, the characters did make love but the scenes were written in a way that left a lot to the imagination! While this is definitely not a hot and heavy read, the romance is a work of art that I will enjoy reading again in the future!
