Ryan Johnston has finally been reunited with the man he loves, and is just starting to see a future for him and Daniel. Too bad his parents are going to try to do everything they can to destroy the happy couple.

Daniel Miller is ecstatic that he finally has Ryan in his arms where he belongs, and he wants nothing more than to take care of him and protect him forever. But Ryan has other ideas.

When Ryan begins receiving threatening messages that he is sure are from his parents, it makes his gut cramp up because it is hard to not to want to just run away again. But this time, he has Daniel in his corner and he is going to do what he can to stay with him. Meanwhile, Ryan is working on his art again, and looking into seeing if he can find galleries that will show it for him. He wants to be as self-sufficient as possible and to contribute financially to his and Daniel’s future. However, when the attacks escalate, Ryan begins to feel as if leaving really may be the only answer. Will Daniel be able to convince him otherwise, or will Ryan’s parents finally get their wish? To have Ryan out of their lives forever.

I absolutely adored this sequel to To Find and To Keep. I was really hoping that Ms. Yates would tell us the rest of Ryan and Daniel’s story, and boy, let me tell you she did not disappoint! This author can write angst like nobody’s business, and the ever deepening emotions between Ryan and Daniel just kept me turning the pages. I could not put this book down until I had read the final page. The way that Ryan’s parents are written is so true to form for some parents of young gay men, that it is not long before you are feeling like you want to do them some bodily damage for what they did to Ryan. I loved how they got their comeuppance in the end! The tender lovemaking between Ryan and Daniel coupled with the deep emotions really makes this a stellar read as well. If you have not read any of Serena Yates’ books, I highly recommend this one and her others. She is quite simply not to be missed.
