An old-style western novel, this story has everything you would expect of the genre. Gunslingers, daring ladies and the dust settling—after hoof beats thrum across the Kansas farmland—punctuate this rich trail-ride adventure. Romance is rushed and a bit unbelievable, but, for the most part, true to the Old West and the precariousness of its day-to-day life. Even though the mother’s romance—after her husband was killed brutally and she was molested by the bandits—seemed particularly unbelievable to this reader, others might find this Wild West adventure is a perfect fit.
