As Armis rushed back toward Laurel, the front door exploded open with the Alpha and his top hunters. A Horned One galloped inside, raising his front hooves in the air and landing on Armis. Laurel cried in horror. The basket flew from his arms, and across the room.

Laurel watched her infant child soar through the air, landing head down on the floor, the basket covering her lifeless body. The babe did not cry. Laurel sobbed, unable to move.
“She’s dead! My baby! Evil numps! You’ve killed my baby!”she screamed, knowing she was to die, now welcoming it.
She looked at her husband, spread across the floor, unconscious, bleeding. The Horned One that had knocked him out and had killed her infant daughter stood over him. The Alpha screeched another demand and the Horned One backed up several steps from her husband. She stared. Suddenly, the white devil, intent on killing, gallopedtoward her husband with his head lowered close to the floor. The creature reached Armis and, with brutal force, shoved his majestic horn into his back. Armis screamed in agony. Again, the Horned One stepped backward, placed his head low and charged into his flesh, this time slicing from his lower back up to his neck. He lifted his blood-soaked horn. Her husband’s dark blood dripped down the Horned One’s white face onto the floor next to her. Laurel sobbed uncontrollably, close to losing conciousness.
The white demon trotted in between her and her dead husband. Another Horned One followed beside him. The blood-covered one lifted his oversized hoof just over Armis’s head. The Alpha screeched. Laurel moaned as the hoof crushed her husband’s skull.
His blood splattered her face. She screamed and watched the other Horned One’s hoof above her own face. Her eyes closed.
“With The Dreamers be—”Her demise silenced the prayer.
