D.O.L.L.S - Carol

Desirable Older Ladies Love Specialists - Book Three

Author(s): Shari Dare

Carol McIntyre looked at the rumpled bedclothes on her king sized bed. It wasn’t like she shared it with anyone at the time. She’d entertained lovers in the past, but over the years they disappeared from her life.

When Grace suggested the idea of the D-O-L-L-S, Carol started thinking about what it would be like to have a younger lover. In the past she only took men to her bed who were older and could advance her career.

Her agent acted as her first uncommitted lover and they slept together just two weeks prior to him taking her on as his client. At the time, she’d been a struggling author who thought she needed an agent in order to get her manuscript in the hands of a receptive publisher. She soon learned he only wanted her in his bed with no desire to help her get published. After a year of him making her rewrite passages she considered perfect, she realized he wanted her body more than he wanted to help her attain fame as a writer. With such a realization formulating in her mind, she decided she needed more than a satisfying sex life.

After dumping him, she managed to get her first book published on her own and later obtained an agent who would work for her best interests, not because of any need for a bed partner.

From that point on she wrote various genres, including the erotica prompting the ad she put up at the vocational school.

She thought of the ad she placed two weeks ago. Never, in her entire life, had she ever advertised for a lover. She certainly hoped this would work out in her favor.

Lately, she started writing some of the hottest novels of her career, but they were mainly from memory. She drew on her many past lovers for her knowledge of sexual fantasies. How much better would her next book be if she had actually experienced a lover, other than the ones in her warped imagination?

Outside the mid September rain pounded against the bedroom window. Listening to it, she thought of the words for the opening scene of her next novel. Leaving the bed still unmade, she hurried to the office in order to jot down the words she needed for the beginning of the next book by Sexy Kitty.

As her fingers flew over the keys, her mind ran in a completely different direction. The words constituting her book would write themselves, just as they always did, while she thought about the fact her ad had been up for over two weeks without anyone even calling the number posted. With the end of September fast approaching, she knew she needed to find a young lover soon or her month would be over without her finding a man as her friends, Ellen and Grace, did.

The phone on her desk rang, but it certainly wasn’t the one she wanted to hear. “Hello,” she said absently, not looking at the caller ID to see if this was a call she should take or one to go to the answering machine in the living room. Seeing it was from the local airport, she decided to take it.

“Is this Carol McIntyre, the author?” the caller inquired.

“Speaking,” she replied, before thinking of the implications of giving out her personal information.

“I’m so glad to have found you. We’re setting up a vendor’s area at the air show next weekend and we were hoping you’d be available. We have a vendor who can’t make it, they’ve forfeited the cost of the booth, but that leaves us in a bind. Would you mind coming out and selling your books?”

Carol thought about the e-mail she’d sent to the air show committee several months earlier. She’d considered having a booth, but when she found out the cost of a booth was four hundred dollars, she rethought her position on the entire thing. It was just too much to pay, even for a three-day event promising to bring in over ten thousand people.

“What us this going to cost me?” she asked.

“Not a cent, we need to fill this booth.  The vendor who can’t make it understands we can’t refund what they’ve already paid. To be truthful, they suggested offering the space to you.”

“Can I ask who they are?”

“They asked not to be named. When they learned you couldn’t make it, they asked if you were going to be there. We told them you declined our invitation due to the cost. They said you gave them so much reading pleasure, they wanted you to have the space.”

“Then I accept. What time do I need to be out there to set up?”

“We’d like you set up and ready to go by noon on Friday and be there for the entire weekend. We will be providing you with a table and chair, but anything else you set up is up to you. I know you have a lot of books and will need help setting up, so we have volunteers who are willing to help you bring everything in and get set up. Oh, we do want you to bring not only the Carol McIntyre books, but also the ones by Sexy Kitty. Your benefactor knows about your alter-ego and wants both books displayed.”

“But isn’t this a family affair type of thing?”  I don’t think the Sexy Kitty books should be out where kids can see them.”

“Point taken. They can be kept under wraps and still be available. I mean, you certainly haven’t had any qualms about keeping your second identity a secret. Everyone knows Sexy Kitty and Carol McIntyre are one in the same. There’s no need to leave out the books I’ve heard are your best sellers.”

Carol smiled at the caller’s comment. She always told people Sexy Kitty made the money in their partnership and at royalty time, she locked the wench in the closet and cashed her checks. It always brought laughter from her fans, even though they didn’t realize how close to the truth her statement came.

“You’re right about needing help setting up. It will be a welcome change from what I’m used to doing. I’ll be there about ten-thirty on Friday, and thank you for thinking of me.”

The man on the other end of the line laughed. “I’ll convey the message to your benefactor.”

Carol hung up the phone and abandoned her latest novel. Instead she went into the bedroom to see what she would be wearing to the air fest event.

Usually when Sexy Kitty went to a signing, she wore sexy tops, short skirts and stiletto heels, but this weekend would be an entirely different event. Here she would have to look more like Carol and less like Kitty.

For Friday, she chose a brown suit with an orange tank top, for Saturday a more casual denim suit with a red tank and for Sunday a knee length skirt of lightweight wool in a lovely fall print and a brown silk blouse. Each outfit looked family friendly and a little flirty at the same time.

What no one else would know about were the sexy underwear she purchased especially to be September’s D-O-L-L. The bras she chose featured lacy or sheer cups, while the panties ranged from thongs to lace with little boy legs. If she couldn’t have a great sexual experience, at least she could feel sexy while she signed her books for the tourists who came to see the air show.
