But that didn't stop her from mourning him, anyway.

Her sorrow all-too-soon changes after Grayson appears to her in ghost form, unable to leave her apartment. But as love springs between them and Grayson becomes Jordana's ghost of her dreams, she will do anything in her power to keep him at her side.

Excerpt:

Not quite awake, Jordana rolled from her side to her back. She yanked the bed sheets a little higher, trying to drift off into a deeper sleep again. But something was keeping her from doing so. Almost completely awake now, she kept her eyes closed as she adjusted her pillow to a better position. That didn’t work. It almost felt as if someone stared at her while she slept, which was ridiculous since she lived alone and always had after leaving her ex. And it wasn’t as if she went to bed each night with her curtains wide open either.

Jordana finally gave up and cracked open her eyes. The sight of a man bent over her with his face hovering above hers had her letting out a loud shriek as she scrambled to the other side of the bed. Even though she was fully covered by her pajamas, she yanked the covers up to her neck, feeling as if she were going to have a heart attack.

The man held out his hands, making a motion to tell her to calm down. “I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said. “I’m not going to hurt you. Just please tell me you can see me.”

She blinked a few times as she fully focused on his face. Once she had a good look, Jordana’s jaw dropped. It couldn’t be. He was dead. It was all over the news and Internet. But the man who stood in her room next to her bed looked exactly like Grady Timmins. They were identical.

Jordana cleared her throat. “I can see you,” she said in a voice that came out in a squeak.

He’d straightened while she spoke. A look of relief washed over his face. “Thank god. I had begun to wonder if I would not only be stuck here but left to never be seen by you. I watched you sleep all night, hoping like hell that when you woke up you’d know I was here.”

“Here all night?” she squeaked again. “Did you break into my apartment?”

He shook his head. “No. It isn’t like that. I just sort of ended up in it.”

“I don’t understand.”

Jordana slowly inched toward the opposite edge of the bed from where he stood, which also happened to be closer to the room’s door. Maybe if she was quick enough she could make it to the living room and phone 9-1-1 before he stopped her. It was too bad the cordless she had in her bedroom was on the nightstand next to him.

“I know this is going to sound crazy, but I died. For some reason, I was brought to your apartment. I can’t leave. Every time I try I run into a solid obstacle.”

She finally made it to the side of the mattress and carefully got out of bed, not taking the sheets with her. Jordana was almost there. Just a little bit more. To distract him, she said, “You want me to believe you died and now, as a ghost, you ended up in my apartment.”
