Is the man she loves…her mother’s killer?
Rose never believed in love, her mother’s words in her head saw to that. Becks Harlow wanted Rose to protect her heart from the pain of love. When her mother was brutally murdered, Rose turned to the one man she thought could help, Detective Dave Mason. He was in charge of her mother’s case. Little did Rose know, Detective Mason would soon be in charge of her body, heart, and soul. She also suspected he killed her mother!
“Becks?” she shouted and went from room to room. “Becks?” she continued to shout as she went into the master bedroom. That’s strange; she thought to herself, the master bathroom light is on. She stepped inside and smelled the faint smell of bleach. Rose noticed that the curtain was pulled on the tub, and the feeling of dread now turned into panic. She pulled the curtain back. Her mother’s lifeless body lied there, cold, wet, and with her eyes staring off into space. Rose kneeled down at the side of the tub and touched her mother’s face. “Becks,” she said. She choked on a sob. “Momma,” she whispered.
She pulled her cell phone out of her pocket and dialed 911.
