Michael Reynolds of Chicago graduated in time for the worst economic downturn since 1929, the 73’-74’ recession. After three years in a dead end job he takes his knowledge of Russian (he grew up with them in his neighborhood) and joins the Army. He is posted in Berlin and the UK where he meets and falls in love with Angela Lawrence, an Op like him. But they are separated by their commands since they both have clearances and they are both “foreign nationals”. He is present when the USSR was about to invade Poland in 1979 and is instrumental in sending reports to the NSA that recruited him. He then meets Elizabeth Turner of Texas and marries, finishes his service, returns to Chicago for another series of dead end jobs. He was working for a bunch of mendacious dolts until he was hired by a company in Atlanta, Georgia run by a very good, fair and spiritual people who happened to be Brahmin's from southern India. He is accepted by them as bonds are formed. He is finally making a lot of money and is successful until dirty nukes go off in Detroit and Vienna in the year 2010. A former military intelligence analyst, the American Army calls Michael back at age 59 since Russia was also attacked by the Iranians. Russia is once again on the side of the “allies”. He is assigned to a British unit and meets up with his old English love interest (Angela Lawrence). She is a widow who never lost her affection for the "yank". Like both their dads in June of 1944, Captain Reynolds and RAF Major Lawrence will be a part of another Normandy style invasion after Israel is attacked and almost subjugated by Iran, Syria, Turkey and Egypt. The world is at war and things go horribly wrong as Captain Reynolds finds himself battling his way to Jerusalem embedded with an Indian combat arms unit.
