Pete hopes the magic of the holiday season will help him to mend the friendship one night of teenage indiscretion tore apart. A successful software designer, he is bringing his girlfriend, Gina, to Avalon to meet his oldest friend, and first love, Andy. A dozen years have passed and it will take all the Christmas spirit in Avalon to mend the rift and maybe, just maybe, bring the three of them together for a night of explosive sex that will catapult them into a happy ever after beyond any of their wildest dreams. If it can happen anywhere, it can happen on Catalina Island!
Pete slipped into the room first and pulled his sweater over his head, turning to wink at Andy as he remained in the doorway, nervous. Gina hadn’t been aware of their conversation after all, hadn’t heard their laughter. Poor girl had fallen asleep, curled like a kitten in the middle of the large bed, her red hair spread out across the pillow behind her, gleaming in the light of the single Tiffany lamp on the dresser. She had stayed as nude as they had made her, and her shoulders were silky loveliness while the rest of her amazing body hid under the sheets and quilt covering the bed.
Disappointment filled him. He had wanted it to be the three of them for a variety of reasons. For one, he and Pete hadn’t done too well the last time, and he hoped with Gina there, they would break their losing streak. Also, he liked her and wanted to make love to her, too. Living on the boat, he didn’t date much; he did have a nice lady or two he could count on for a fun evening occasionally. But it was only that, and they didn’t want more either.
Eyeing Pete’s lady, he found himself imagining more than fun, more than sex. She touched him—she saw what he and his old friend felt for one another and, unlike most people, was secure enough to leave them together to work it out. No rules, no interference.
Just the most loving acceptance.
