The Cat House (Box Set)

Author(s): Julia Talbot

Book Summary

Werewolf Bay meets werecats Kyle and Abby at the new club in town, and he's stunned at the immediate connection he has with them. But there's a killer on the loose. Can Kyle and Abby save Bay, and manage to keep him for themselves?

Cole Lee owns half of the Cat House, and lately he seems to own all the troubles that come along with running the club. The chemistry between Alan and Cole might just blind them to the danger they still face. Can they solve the case and still make time to get to know each other in the best possible way?

Layla, half owner of the Cat House, is great at matchmaking, but not so good at finding someone to call her own. Aaron and Jamie have a good thing, but they believe sharing makes it even better. Layla might be the purrfect pleasure to mix with their business, and they're ready to take what they want.

When paranormal lovers meet at the Cat House, their lives will never be the same.

This collection contains the previously released novellas in the Cat House series: Cats and Dogs, Catnip Crazy, and Cat Fancy.

Bay hated going on blind dates. Okay, so maybe meeting someone for a drink at Layla's new club wasn't a blind date, but he wasn't the most socially apt guy out there. Oh, the ladies, and the gents, liked the look of him, but once he opened his mouth and growled about something, it went downhill fast.

Maybe he really did need to find a wolf pack to hang out with instead of seeing Layla and her cats all the time.

"Bay! It's about time you showed up." Layla came to kiss his cheeks, her long, smooth blonde hair falling against his shoulder, her painted claws tapping his upper arms.

"Hey, honey. Am I late? I thought you said to come around ten thirty." He knew better, knew she was just chastising him because her other guest had shown up early. Layla hated to be thwarted, even for a half hour.

"You're not late. I just wanted to show you!" Tugging his arm, she dragged him to the end of the bar, turning him with a jerk to face the booths along the back wall. "There."

Since she didn't point, he had to scan all the booths. One had a pile of what looked like sorority chicks, so that was a no. One had three guys, so he hoped to hell that wasn't what she had in mind. The other three booths held couples.

"Okay, I'm lost, honey. Which one?"

"Bay! One of those girls is just what you like."

He scanned the crowd again, ignoring the male half of the couples, looking for someone who might be his type at first glance. Ah. There. Brunette, long and curly hair, with pretty grayish eyes and a dimpled smile. She had a curvy body and a look of sleepy sensuality about her that made him tighten up in the best way. Awooo.

Bay looked over the guy she was with too. He was tall, lean, with cheekbones that would leave paper cuts. Interesting. The guy didn't deflate him, so Bay shrugged. "She's okay."

"Even more interesting is that they're willing to play with you more than they are me. So buy a round of drinks and get your ass over there, sweetie. The kitties await."

"I'll wait to buy until I've at least said hello." Bay got his ass moving, though, because those sharp nails had cut into his arm a bit, speaking of a huge impatience. The guy was almost prettier than the girl when he got close, but not in a feminine way. He was all sharp angles and sleek hair, completely different than Bay's own shaggy ranginess.

The girl was just hot as fire. She had the prettiest tits, all round and perky.

"Hey," he offered, figuring he looked like a giant dork with the smile he tried to put on. "I'm, uh, Layla's friend."

They both looked Bay over, the man appraising, the woman appreciating, which didn't help with feeling like a dork, as it gave him wood.

"You're a Lupe," the guy said, sniffing at him a little.

"I am. Is that going to be a problem?"

"No. I'm Abby. This is Kyle. Have a seat and a drink with us, huh?"

Abby had the prettiest eyes up close, this weird mix of gray and green, and they shone with mischief. Bay really liked her smile too.

"I'd like that. I'll buy a round. Just to prove not all wolves are bad guys, huh?" He grinned over at Kyle, who unbent enough to smile back a little.

"Never trust a man who offers you free booze, I always say."

"Man, you're a tough crowd." Still, Kyle's words had held a teasing edge, a hint of laughter, so Bay decided he was okay. Willing to try, anyway.

"We are. But we're worth it." Abby scooted over and let him ease himself into the booth, the fake fur catching on his jeans and making a scratchy noise.

"She is, at any rate." The look that passed between Kyle and Abby scorched him a little, letting him know they were definitely a "they." He would be for play, and that was it.

Suited him.

"Is she?" Bay asked, waving at the little waitress. "Good to know."

Abby pressed close, her breast soft against his arm, the smell of her musky perfume enticing. He loved it. "I am. I can also speak for myself. I'd like two more White Russians. What would you like?"

"I'm Bay. I'll have a shot of tequila and a beer chaser. A Shiner, please."

"Oh, Kyle likes Shiner. See, you have something in common."

"I bet we have more than that in common." There would have to be some things they did to her that were the same. They were both guys, after all.

"I don't know. Do you like sushi?" Kyle's smile spoke volumes, and Bay groaned.

"For supper? No."

"I bet you like steak, huh?" Abby's nails were shorter than Layla's, less like claws, and they felt good running up and down his arm. Shivery good.

"I do. I like it rare too."

"See? Something else you have in common with Kyle. I say we take him home."

His whole body went boing, and Bay held his breath, waiting for Kyle to give a yea or nay.

"Okay. Let's go."

Just like that. He was in. Well, he wasn't in anyone yet, but he had high hopes.
