Blanca reached into the pantry and got a jar of toddler food for Reginald. Suddenly, she shook her spoon at Fish. "Anyway—forget you, Fish! Whiskey hadn't been gone a week before you tried to take me to bed. How could you do that to your own brother?"

With widened eyes, Fish seemed surprised. "Shit, Blanca! Do I have to spell it out for you? I had you first—Whiskey took you from me. We dated in high school, remember? I guess being with Whiskey erased your damn memory."

To hide her irritation, Blanca expelled a girlish giggle. "So, this is all about, revenge? I was silly back then—I just went along for the ride."

Fish dropped his arms beside him, then slowly advanced. The physical movements of his body made Blanca feel uncomfortable. Even so, she continued to feed Reginald.

When Fish was in her face, he lowered his voice. "My kisses meant nothing to you, Blanca?"

She pointed her spoon at him and warned, "Back off, Fish. That was long ago. I've grown up, since then."

“You were eighteen years old, baby. Good thing you were on the pill. You couldn’t get enough of me.”

“I told you, I was young and silly. I made a mistake.”

“Several mistakes. I was slinging pipe almost every day. That is—until my older brother came along.” He chuckled sardonically. “Telling me you weren’t into white meat—but one look at Whiskey, and you closed your legs to me, for good."

Blanca narrowed her eyes, then pleaded. “I never loved you, Fish Evans. Can't you understand that? When I met Whiskey, I didn't think twice. I simply fell in love with him.” She frowned. “Fish, you were my friend."

Fish reached for his phone and checked a text. "Yeah, well you don't throw it on your friends like that, Blanca.
