Excerpt:
She opened the wide doors to the balcony and stepped out. The night was fresh and fragrant. She saw the five moons shifting quietly through thin cloud cover. They were almost full, bright yellow with a thin aura around them. Jaree looked at the hues that encircled them: red, green, white, purple and blue.
She was struck with an epiphany!
She gathered up her stones and sat down on the balcony. She placed them in the exact order of the moons: red, green, white, purple and blue. She sat cross-legged and stared at them.
This time there was no awkward vibration. There was no white mist to fight through. No confusion whatsoever. Instead there was a beatific sense of welcome. Jaree’s thoughts sailed across Teranea, and then she realized it wasn’t her thoughts at all that flew so freely. It was her soul. The spirits of Teranea made a path for her and she floated magically across the land. Her insides were warm. A feeling of pure contentment washed over her.
A large body of water appeared before her. She drifted across it, drawn to a houseboat on the far shore. There she found a man hunched over a map. She knew immediately who it was. She fearlessly entered his thoughts.
