The computer system designed to save them may be what ultimately kills them.
A joyride in a flight simulator turns deadly when a group of college students tap into a military flight system designed to protect against a hijacking. At the same time, a winter storm knocks out power and causes the computer system to lock up leaving an airplane with 259 people flying helpless in the sky. The FBI is called in to help, but ends up uncovering more than they bargain for.
“Hack into what?” Mandy asked. “You said you wanted to hook up your laptop to the full motion in the propulsion lab. You didn’t say anything about hacking into a government computer. My dad works for a government contractor, I’m pretty sure he would shoot me dead if he knew I was involved in anything like this.”
“Don’t worry about it Mandy, I’m skipping my IP address through so many servers, it is impossible to trace here to us. Besides, it’s just a simulator system for some drone.”
“Are you sure Pat? I mean there is no way anyone can find us?” Mandy was visibly nervous twirling her hair with her finger.
“Yeah. I’m positive. I’d bet John’s computer on it!” Pat turned and smirked at John.
John whacked him upside his head for the remark. “Just don’t lose any of my work. I have stuff on there from last semester that I need for classes this semester.”
