There are places where dead is better.
Dead Town is a novel based on actual events. A decade ago a serial killer and practicing Satanist tormented the small New Mexico Town of Truth or Consequences. Suspected of torturing and killing sixty women, he was sentenced to one hundred and eighty years in prison. He eluded justice by dying in only eight months. Leaving behind the girlfriend and daughter, also suspected of participation in the killings.
A decade later a young artist purchases the nearby ghost town of Cuchero New Mexico, one of David Parker Rays killing fields. Josh begins to experience terrifying apparitions and hears the screams of the tortured dead. He discovers a bloody wedding dress in one of the old houses and it seems the dead are reaching out for him calling for help beyond their unmarked graves. Josh meets and marries a beautiful headstrong girl who he hopes will bring new life to his increasingly terrifying new purchase. Just the opposite occurs, as David Parker Ray, is dead but far from gone, aided by his now freed blood thirsty monster of a girlfriend, he seeks fresh kills to cement his eternal life. A young couple struggles to overcome the desires of the dead and the hell bound man who ended their lives.
The voice when it came thundered in her ears shaking the ground beneath her
“You call for my servant? You beg for him, you pray to him?” Catherine sobbed soundlessly her mouth an ugly rictus of fear. She found in her terror though that she remembered the old words still.
“I’m sorry, I beg you savior. Oh forgive me lord of flies, god of the eternally damned. Father of lies, my sanctuary and my destruction. Forgive my sacrilege. I am the servant of your eternal night and your will be done.”
