All Luci wants this Valentine's Day is a date. So when her teenage crush, Damien, calls her out of the blue after so many years, she’s willing to see where things lead. But she doesn’t know that Damien belongs to a fanatical group who are convinced the Antichrist will rise this year. Usually a bunch of whackos wouldn’t worry her. Not when her life is already full of them. Except, this bunch are convinced that she’s the Antichrist, and are determined to stop her rise. But now that she's reunited with Damien, Luci's not going to let these crazy-robed men stop her from enjoying her first date in ages. She’s determined to have a good time... even if it kills her.
As I wrapped my hands around the brown package, ready to open it, my mobile phone rang. It was still in my jeans’ pocket so I pulled it out and answered without thinking.“We know who you are,” a man’s voice said.“Who is this?” My first reaction was to hang up, but my hand refused to move. The stranger’s tone sent a shiver down my spine.“Now that we’ve found you, it’s just a matter of reeling you in. We need to stop your evil intentions before it’s too late.” I didn’t recognize the eerie voice.“Who is this? If Henry hired you to scare me back into his arms, it’s not gonna work. I told him it was done months ago, so tell your little friend we’re over. Done, finito! Got it?” I removed the phone from my ear and snapped it shut. The nerve of some people! Now he was getting others to try and scare me, in hopes that I’ll run back into his arms in fear. Well, if he kept it up, I was going to go to the cops. I didn’t have to put up with this crap. The mobile rang again and my fingers itched to answer it, though my head debated the decision. In the end, the fingers won because usually when I’ve got a smart thing in my head, well, I ignore it. “Listen, if you don’t leave me alone I’m gonna call the cops and put a restraining order against you, do you hear me?”“Ah… Luci, is that you?”My head suddenly hurt. Shit! “Yeah, it’s me… Damien?” I couldn’t believe he was actually calling me. We’d met up again only a few days ago. I hadn’t expected him to call so soon. Was sure he’d reassured me he would because we were face to face, like he’d done so many times before.
