Laiani has always loved being able to help the creatures of the forest with her powers as healing, but when a Human needs her help, her own kind turns against her. By showing compassion to the Human, she has been banished from the Wood Sprites for a complete turning of the seasons. To make matters worse, her power of invisibility has been taken from her.
 
Gar cannot believe the healing brought about by the beautiful woman who disappeared right before his eyes. Knowing the people have talked about Wood Sprites as well as other mythical creatures of the forest, he wonders if this is what the mystery woman is.
 
In his desire to make her his prisoner, he is tempted to make her a woman in every way possible, further alienating her from her people and causing her to go into hiding from him.
