Top Bidder, a Hammer story

Author(s): Sean Michael

Kurt joined the staff as a waiter at the Hammer Club because he wanted a Master of his own. He’s shy, though, and just one boy among the many looking for that special someone to dominate them.  In fact, he’s working the night of the Hammer’s Annual Christmas Auction when Master Marcus asks him to fill in for a sub stuck in traffic.
Master August noticed Kurt when he first started working at the Hammer, but hadn’t approached the boy, wondering if they were compatible. When he sees Kurt on the auction block, he figures it’s the perfect time to test out their chemistry without putting any pressure on either of them.
Will Kurt and August find what they’re looking for in each other? Find out in the Christmas Hammer tale.

"What? Me?" Kurt stared at Master Goodfellow, the lights making patterns on the big master's bald head. No. No way. Really? "What if I mess up? What if I freak out?" What if no one wants me?
"Honey, Miguel is suck in traffic. We have a spot. We have you. We have a charity to raise money for. Do it for the homeless vets." Marcus looked a lot like he was about to burst out laughing at him. "It is Christmas, after all."
"But... who'll take my tables?" Him. Little new him who still sort of got flourless chocolate cake and molten chocolate cake screwed up, in the Christmas auction. Wow.
"You let Xavier worry about that -- I checked with him to make sure I wouldn't screw his day up too badly if I stole you away." Marcus patted his shoulder. "I'm not asking you to offer to be someone's slave for a year. It's for an evening of submission, here at the club. Who knows, maybe you'll find what you’re looking for, hmm?"
"It is Christmas. Miracles could happen." Kurt winked and grinned.
"There you go!" Master Goodfellow got serious for a moment. "Thank you, boy. You're doing a very good thing. Now go find my Jim and he'll get you fluffed."
"Fluffed?" He might have squeaked.
Master Goodfellow just laughed and pushed him toward the wings of the stage.
Kurt headed toward one of the prettiest men he'd ever seen who was talking to the second prettiest. Jim and Tanny were legends, and gorgeous, one dark and sleek, the other red-headed and colorful. They were both buff and lovely and made Kurt feel like an ugly duckling, skinny and plain and so very vanilla.
"Master Goodfellow said I'm supposed to take Miguel's spot." He blurted the words out, so nervous he couldn't bear it.
"Oh, wow, that's awesome!" Jim grinned. "We'll have to hurry, though, you're on next."
"Next? What do I have to do? What do I do if no one wants me? Is there like a pity bid system?"
Tanny laughed. "Kid, they are going to eat you up. All you have to do is get rid of the shirt and shoes and go out there and smile."
"He'll get better bids if he's hard, too, Tanny."
Kurt’s eyes went wide and he stared. No. No, he... well, okay, getting hard wasn't a problem, but on stage for no reason?
Tanny reached out, hand going to his crotch.
"What are you doing?" He stumbled back, almost falling. "I don't..." Maybe he wasn't ready for this.
"You don't want to be hard?" Tanny blinked at him. "Okay, that's okay, right Jim? You just need to go out there. Without your shirt, preferably."
He looked at the guys, cheeks burning. He sucked at this. It was perfectly obvious. Sucked. "I'm sorry."
Jim shook his head. "You're okay. It's your first time."
Yeah, in a lot of ways.
"I know at least three Doms who will be fighting for you." Tanny smiled. "You want me to walk you out there?"
Jim helped him out of his shirt, and he stepped out of his shoes. "I'm just scared. I didn't get to plan."
Jim looked at him, nodded. "I get that. Sometimes you have to go with things."
"Master Marcus is announcing you," murmured Tanny.
"Okay. Promise to clap for me."
Kurt's teeth sank into his bottom lip and he walked out, trying to be brave. There were bright lights and a loud clapping, and Master Goodfellow's voice over the PA system, introducing him.
"Gentlemen, this lovely boy is Kurt. You're invited to bid on him for an evening in one of the rooms here at the Hammer."
He couldn't really see people's faces, which was probably okay. He waved, pushed a lock of hair behind his ear. Please, someone bid. Just one bid.
