Erotic Historical Romance
Rating:

History Professor Bret Taylor is happy to return to South Carolina and employment at a
local college. He is also delighted to acquire Bonnie Doon, a historical mansion dating
back to antebellum times. His immediate goal is to complete the necessary remodeling
and restoration before his fiancée arrives later in the summer, but complications quickly
arise. He does not anticipate encountering an amorous ghost, rumors of a hidden
treasure, and escalating conflicts among the people he hires for various tasks at his
new home. Then his fiancée, Carla Stewart, arrives early while Bret is in the midst of
these unexpected problems. Fortunately, Carla is practical and strong of mind and
spirit, for she must confront the same challenges that Bret faces, including some even
more intimate and difficult for her.

Before the tale concludes, the reader is treated to some sizzling scenes of a most
unusual ménage a trois, as well as the poignant emotions of two women who love Bret,
one from the present and one from the past. It takes a near-tragedy for him to come to
grips with the fact he must choose and choose correctly which one is the true love of his
life.

No Gone With The Wind, Lace and Shadows is a thoroughly modern tale, but one
sweetly flavored with subtle echoes of the past and strongly erotic images and events.
The lead characters are vividly presented and very endearing. The setting is also well
portrayed. It is a very enjoyable read and highly recommended for lovers of historical
romance as well as erotica.
