I am over 30, have been married to my high school sweetheart for over ten years, and have two very active kids. My husband and my story is just like a good romance read. I was dating two guys at the same time. One was popular, good looking, and a total jerk to me. The other, not so popular, had 75% of his body covered in birthmarks, and a sweetheart to me. I didn't know who to stick with. Hey, I was 18 and still immature. On the train to meet my sister I prayed for an answer of who to choose. The handsome jerk or the boy who's birthmarks scared me. My broken CD player suddenly started playing. And the song ......"You Don't Have To Be Picture Perfect For Me To Love You"! That said it all for me. And we have been together ever since.
When I started reviewing novels for CTR I wanted to stick with the genres I knew and loved. The funny thing was, along the way I found my palate for specific books was changing. While I still love erotica, paranormal, etc. my appreciation for books has grown exponentially and has broaden my views on genres I would never have even thought to glance at much less read. The best thing about being a reviewer is picking up a book and being shocked to find that I enjoyed reading a genre I don't normally even look at.
