1976- The only way to keep Kimberly from crying while having her picture taken was to give her a book.

My mom tells the story that I used to sit at my small table and "read" when I was about 2 years of age. Thanks to the women in my family, reading has always been a treasure trove. I've explored the world all while sitting in my bedroom or along the muddy banks of a creek. I've ridden on the back of Black Beauty, fallen down the rabbit hole with Alice and traveled all over Middle Earth with the Fellowship of the Ring.

I am a tomboy who is a princess at heart. I believe in happily ever after since I married my Prince of Darkness (oops, I mean, Charming) almost 19 years ago. Our canine kids keep our lives full of laughter and fun.

I am a farmer's daughter, born and raised in southern Michigan. Because of my exotic travels in my imagination, I have developed the desire to travel in reality. I've spent 4 years in southern Pennsylvania, 2 years in the Tulsa area of Oklahoma and currently reside on the shores of Lake Michigan in the U.P.

Life has thrown us more than a few lemons, but I'm drinking lemonade. I currently am embarking on the biggest adventure yet. I'm still a domestic goddess, but I can add college freshman to my resume. At the age of 39 (almost...eek...40), I'm going to college to earn my BA in English.
