Hi everyone
So glad you had the time to pop in for a peep at my spot...no, not the red one on my butt cheek...lol a TMI moment.
I live in Aus with three children(actually two older teens who no longer live with me, working, car licence...phew!), a dog who is the bain of my existence, my fisherman hubby who's away more than he's home and my dear, beloved Putie (computer).
My love of writing came about at an early age and I somehow alway wanted to write a book. I read a lot when younger not so much when the first kids came along, and not as much as I'd like to now. But about three years ago I decided to stop working hard at making money for other people and start thinking seriously about working from home as a writer.
With a 2 yo? yeah right :arghhhh:
It took me about 3 months and my first rejection to realize I had a LOT to learn and that writng a great book was about sooo much more than putting words on paper. So I set about learning everything I needed to know about the craft of writing, editing, publishers, agents, and anything else I could get my cotton-pickin hands on.
Along the way I have published some short stories, gained loads of expertise and, by far the most rewarding part, I've made many online friends around the world. Now, I am here to stay and my first novel length work is nearing total completion. It's a romantic suspense and I'll be using it to get the attention of an agent, and/or a major print publisher.
It's important to me to make a living, or the best part of one, at writing. I need to pay the bills and eat like everyone else, so why not make it doing something I love. I'm sure this section will change and grow with meand I hope many of you will be there with me every step of the way.
How about you then....tell me all the gory details.....ah, no pillow talk pls.
