Moonlight
by Ann Rought

Your soft whispers
are the waves’ voice
spraying on the rocks.
The sparkle in your eyes
is silver moonlight<O:p</O:p
on the sea.<O:p</O:p
Your chest,
to which I press my cheek,
is summer sand-<O:p</O:p
and <O:p</O:p
your love
is found on the salty breeze.
Far gone…<O:p</O:p
We kissed goodbye,
but never touched,
I reached out a hand
and grasped only mist.

Oh, how beautiful. Don't you just love poetry that gives you the chills? Or makes you teary-eyed, either from happiness or sentimentality..

Thanks, Lila! I certainly do love poetry that pulls at the heart strings. :)

That is absolutely beautiful. Do you have more?

The imagery in this is magnificent and the emotions are powerful. You're a very talented poet. :) Elizabeth
