Twenty five miles southwest of Cleveland Ohio, just across the border from Cuyahoga County into Lorain County, is a town called North Ridgeville. This town has a population of around 50,000, and it's where I lived for seven years before moving to Tennessee. It's where Nicole spent most of her school years, and where we enjoyed such small town things like fireworks on July 4th in the city park and the Corn Festival every August, just before school started.

I used this town as the inspiration for Creek Ridge Ohio, a fictional town that makes an appearance in two of my books so far. It's also the model for Northlake Ohio, another fictional town that borders Creek Ridge.
