Great beginning!

I just started reading your book this morning and couldn't put it down!! Bad thing when I'm at work! lol. Where did you get the idea for the book? Are you a fan of those types of TV shows (crime drama and/or science fiction?) I love watching or reading anything that challenges me - that takes me away from this crazy world!!

Aw, thanks so much for the lovely words! Made my day. I'm glad when I can interfere with someone's day job. :-D.

As for where I got the idea, I tell the story in the first post in the Retreat. I used to watch CSI - the original and the one set in Miami but haven't watched them since the focus became more on the characters and less on how the crimes were solved - the science. I'm weird that way. I've watched a lot of science fiction/fantasy shows like Supernatural, Superman, Buffy, Eurecka and more but I don't keep at them for a long time because I get bored with the character stuff when all I want is action. As you say, takes me away from this crazy world. That's what I like to write too.

I'm almost finished!! I'm loving the conflict within your character, Lexi. Anything personal with that? I don't want to say too much in case I spoil it for others, but I'm definitely looking forward to the ending. And I love the quotes at the beginning of the chapters - what a nice touch!

Hi Lori!

A bit of myself in Lexi's character with how she struggles with faith and what that means for her since I struggle too. I tend to write my heroines like I'd like to be - not afraid to speak her mind, tough exterior with a nice heart, feisty, that sort of stuff. In another work I'm submitting, my heroine is a tomb raider and gets to travel to exotic places and immerse herself into history. I love history but I don't get to travel. So I do through my heroines. :)

Love that!! I love to travel too and the research part is exciting - finding new places to explore without physically travelling there (though that would be nice too!)
My hubby and I are heading on a cruise in 17 days! I'm very excited as we've been together almost 20 years and have never gone anywhere! We didn't even have a honeymoon. I had to get my passport done and everything!

Okay, off to finish the book! *looks around to make sure the boss isn't looking*

Okay, I'm ready for the book 2 tease!! Loved this book! Sorry I disappeared for a bit - we had a close friend of the family pass away this week (41 with four young children) and it threw us all for a loop.
But I'm ready to hear all about it!! What are the plans, and is the book finished? When is it coming out? Inquiring minds want to know!!

However, I'm very sorry to hear about your close friend - how sad. I'm sure it did throw you for a loop. Best wishes to you, your family and your close friend's family.

For book #2, it's called The Death Skull and is Mari and Jackson's story. It comes out August 2012. I'd post a teaser but with it being 8 months out...but if you want me to, I will. :-D
