For the love of Titanic!
There are only a few movies that top my list as being some of the great love stories of all time. Making this list would be....Pride and Prejudice, Love Story, Princess Bride, and Titanic. Of course my love story, The Day the Flowers Died set in 1930 Munich, Germany would get a mention there too:)-
What is it about love stories we l-o-v-e so much?
Perhaps it is the notion that love can exist somewhere, if not in this world. Perhaps it is the dream of escape. Or it could be that somewhere inside of all of us, we long to connect to others and watching one couple on the screen succeed gives us hope that it could happen for us.
I have always loved Love Stories and without some element of a relationship, a romance in a story I get bored with the story rather quickly. Besides, this is what made the Twilight saga so popular. It wasn’t the vampires or the werewolves or even the teen angst. It was the love story. Without it, what would you have? Not much.
Titanic is hitting the big screen again and is coming out in 3-D! I for one want to see that one! Will you?
What made titanic a top block buster? A top love story? It could be the music, Celine Dion sure does a number. But more than that we have a poor boy who loves a rich girl. A delinquent who is dying to wrap his arms around a lady who can’t stand her life, her husband.
I guess inside of all of us, we sometimes feel like that rich girl, that woman who wants to crawl out of her skin, her life and into the arms of a man who can give her all the comfort she needs.
And let us not forget the breathtaking scenery! The whole story is told on a ship! That in itself is remarkable, because the movie never runs out of beautiful scenes.
Well, I’m in line for my ticket.
