Hello everybody! My name's Linda Ambrosia and I'm a "newbie" writer. My first book, "Liberation," is out now from Lavender Isis Press:
http://www.lavenderisis.com/ourbooks.html

I guess I'm what you'd call a "sweet" (non-sexual) romance writer. But what I write is the "old fashioned" type of sweet, which means romantic adventure with an emphasis on heroic action. (If anyone here remembers the late-great Emilie Loring, then you know exactly what I mean.)

I got my start in a roundabout way. Some years ago I wrote a series of books for the fanzine my Husband and Daughter sold at comic book conventions. After the magazine folded, Hubby kept encouraging me to submit my work to professional publishers. I finally relented and submitted "Liberation" (which was the first story I'd ever done). I was genuinely surprised when it was accepted by Lavender Isis. That's one reason I never put down self-publishing, because I consider it a good training ground.

Altogether I wrote four romances for the magazine, three novels and one short story: "Liberation," "Revolution," "Barbarian From Space" and "Triangle Storm." (The last one being the short story.) With Liberation published as an ebook, I've submitted "Barbarian From Space" to another publishing house (no word yet) and just yesterday submitted "Triangle Storm" to Lavender Isis' ezine The Oasis. (Obviously no word yet on that one either.) I'm also rewriting "Revolution" and renaming it "Midnight Thunder."

I'd love to communicate with all of you. If any of you are My Spacers, here's my link: http://www.myspace.com/liberationnovel

Here's also a link to the video trailer of my book: http://youtube.com/watch?v=mVqKeMNFTnw

Hi again! Wanted you all to know Coffeetime's Regina reviewed me and my book got five cups! I'll be making a bigger post somewhere on these forumns about it. Been having computer difficulties and other hassles with my schedule or I would have posted sooner about the review. But here's the link to it:

Once again I thank Regina. I was very especially excited by this one passage from the review:

It was so refreshing to see an author write about people of Arabic heritage with respect, truthfullness, and understanding.

I wanted to jump for joy when I read that one sentence. You can't imagine how much that sentence meant to me. I darned near cried tears of joy! It showed that what I was trying to do with this book was getting through. You have to understand that I live in a city and state with the largest Arabic population in the country. Of course the story is a romance, so it's not all "real life," but I wanted with all my heart to portray the Arabic characters as the kind of normal human beings that I've come to know. And it's so heartwarming to see that other people can read and understand what I was aiming at. Bless everyone at Coffeetime!

Well he's nicely greased and cleaned up. I could store him in the bed. He'd be comfy there.

Got myself another review! It's from Night Owl Romances this time:
http://www.nightowlromance.com/nightowlromance/reviews/Review.asp?ReviewId=825

Happy me!

By the way folks, it may take me awhile to post things because of my work schedule, but when I do post I really go to town! I've going over to another section in a few minutes to discuss a topic of mine, but first I want to see which area would be best for what I want to do. I'll come back and invite y'all (as my heroine would say) and tell you where I'll be.

I'm back from investigating the groups in Coffeetime. I'd like to discuss a special topic of mine, and near as I can tell I could either do it here, or at Writer's Cafe. It's only vaguely promotional, so I don't think the Promotion area would work. I see the Moderator's on line, and I'd love to get her advice. (Like to find out about that George fellow too! LOL)

See, what I want to talk about is this: Husband, who's the real romance authority in the family, thinks I've created a new kind of romance hero. Both he and I have brought this subject up at Yahoo groups and another club I belong to. But here at Coffeetime I know there's a lot of big time people, and I'm a little scared they might get mad at me. I certainly don't want to come across as pretentious or putting on airs, it's just an idea I'd like to talk over with others more knowledgeable than myself. And since I'd be quoting mostly material of mine that hasn't been published yet, it wouldn't be like I'm spamming. I'll wait to I hear from one of you folks before I post anything on this topic.

Well, if the George in question is the same one that S.J. Willing and I have been talking about, he's a chainsaw. S.J. has a slightly warpt sence of humor. LOL! It's actually part of a running joke that we have going because he likes to invite people into the woods for a "party" and it turns out to be a handburger factory. Like I said, it's a joke that we are having too much fun with, so don't mind us too much unless you want to add to it and you can if you'd like.

Well, I got all the info I needed and went ahead and finally started the thread I wanted. Only difficulties I had were computer gliches, which held me back for about a week, but I'm inclined to think it was my own computer's problems. Would like to thank our Administrator Karenne for her generous help. And as y'all may notice, I've taught myself how to ad my own Avatar and signature! Isn't that something? I'm learning more about this business every day!

Hello again folks! I posted this at the promotional threads earlier, but figured I should mention here too that both a short story and an article of mine have just been published by Lavender Isis (same company that published my book) in their now free online magazine, the Oasis Online:

http://www.lavenderisis.com/oasisonline.html

My short story is here: http://www.lavenderisis.com/trianglestorm.html

This is a sequel to my book Liberation, and take place in early 1980, just a little over three years from the events in the book.

My article tells how I learned to write:
