I couldn't make it but can I add this to cheer up your halloween?

JACK

It's on a cold and windy night
too much to do, too late;
in a fit of rage I take my knife
and attack the last victim on my list.

The light from overhead sends an arc
from the blade, through my eye into my
fevered mind, as I struggle, grasping,
holding still, to sever flesh.

With a kind of organised yet imprecise
hacking motion, I work my way through skin,
with hands of childish glee dig out the brain.
Has some small part of me actually gone insane?

My fingers slick with gloop and slime
I find my rhythm – as I gouge out eyes,
carve away a nose, make a slit
from ear to ear, widening the grin.

In moments, I have created life,
as I stand back and wipe my soiled hands clean.
I grin at him and he grins back at me, with his fanged smile
and demonic eyes ablaze with candlelight.

But the joke's on him. Tomorrow night
my knife will slice again and there will be
more soup and pumpkin pie, to warm us
on such cold and windy nights as this.
