A door that creaks open by itself...lights that go on for no reason...whispers in the dark...a shadowy figure lurking in an otherwise empty room...

:scardey: Yeah, I loved to scared!

Ever since I was a kid, I've enjoyed that creepy feeling I get every time I read a ghost story. I guess that's why I write them now. While I've read all kinds of paranormal romance - those with witches, vamps, etc., I still love romances that feature a ghost...

Those tortured souls that can't rest. They've either passed on to the other side too quickly, or met their death by nefarious means, and now they want revenge or maybe they seek that all-comforting eternal light.

Not only do I like to be scared, but turned on, too. I like my paranormal romances to be hot and spicy. Any level of 'heat' is fine with me. I think I've read all types of paranormal romance - from the very erotic to the sweet and sensual.

Do you like to be scared? And how do you like your romance - sweet, hot or just a bit spicy?

There's this old scary movie called 'The Innocents' that I love to watch. It was adapted from a story called 'The Turn of the Screw.' (LOL, the movie is so old, I believe it is in black and white). Talk about being scared! I think the fact that it was filmed in black and white makes it even scarier.

I think a spicy romance pairs well with the paranormal. After all, the hero's got to comfort the heroine when she gets frightened. LOL!

What girl wouldn't take comfort from the hero when she's scared. LOL

Since we're speaking about the hero comforting the heroine...

Hear me read a sizzling excerpt from my paranormal erotic romance, LADY IN WHITE, at:

Enjoy Seth and Serena's heated kiss - it will make your lips tingle and your body...hum.

I know what you mean! And the anticipation of what's going to happen next. I read a scary part of a book or watch a scary movie, and I can't wait for the next fright-filled scene.

Enjoy SHIVERS! Three of my favorite authors have stories in there, too - and they are wonderful. I'm going to be posting an excerpt today from SHIVERS at my Yahoo! Group, Catherine Chernow's Heart of Romance.

Woo hoo! If you love being scared (and turned-on, too) then SHIVERS is the book for you.

BTW...I love the saying at the end of your email, 'Books are my friends...shhhh they talk to me.'

When I'm writing, I feel like my characters talk to me. LOL - sometimes, they do! They propel the story many times, putting a little twist in the plot I've outlined. So, I've learned to listen to them.
