I've been away from Coffeetime for about two months, but with very good reason. For one I've had some health problems, but the main reason is my Husband and I have been in a publishing whirlwind. Our first science-fiction novel, GULLIVER'S CHILDREN, has been picked up by an e-book company, FIREDRAKES WEYR, and it's scheduled to be released in July. Since April we've signed contracts, submitted blurbs, approved the book cover, and all the things that go with getting a new book out. We've both been down that road before, and it's a joyous road indeed.

Over the last couple of months we've also flooded the Internet through YouTube and other venues with Video Previews of our novel, and we've created a page where you can read the blurb and see two of the best videos:

These videos have also been picked up by a couple of UFO groups--which was what we hoped. Since one chapter deals withe our version of the Roswell legend, we cleverly created a video preview that dealt with the Roswell connection to our novel.

The greatest surprise in all this that the publisher felt the book was best suited for the Young Adult-Science-Fiction category. We've always wanted to get into YA, but never expected to this book to be chosen for that field due to the occasional rough language used by some characters including one alien who "so adores earth cussing words." But the publisher has no problem with that, so we're not complaining!

Our publishing house is holding a special chat at 9pm ESTon July 2 for all the authors published that month, including us. Anyone who wants to join in is invited, including you good folks at Coffeetime. Just go to the Firedrakes Weyr site:
http://www.firedrakesweyr.com/ and click their Chat link, sign in and join the crowd!

You can hear three of the ladies who'll be discussing their work at Firedrakes radio blog: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/FDWP
After you hear their show, scroll down to the June 1 link and click that to hear me and Husband being interviewed on that episode, along with some other writers. (Actually, I only broadcast for less than a minute then let Husband do all the talking for us--LOL!)

This is a joyous moment and we're relishing every minute of it. I might not be at the chat because of health problems, but if I'm not Husband will be there for sure. And I hope you'll come and join us all for a real good time!
