ChristieSilvers

The first few lines of my next book? It's going to be the book I'll be working on next month during NaNo, so I've only done outlines and a character interview.

But, the first few lines are the ones that started the whole book idea, so they've been sitting in my computer for about two months now.

So? Wanna see?

Okay, here you go. This one is currently titled Time For Death (its 4th title, lol).

My name is Lizbeth (my friends call me Liz), and I’m on a mission to murder the man of my dreams.

No, I’m not some psychopath, a jealous ex, or even a jilted wife who just found out that her husband has been banging the office copy girl. No, I’m none of those.

What I am, is a woman determined to kill the one man whom she thought was the one.

Well, is that intriguing enough to make you wanna read more?

CharmedGirl
October 20th, 2008, 09:26 PM
Yes. I want to read more.

ChristieSilvers
October 22nd, 2008, 06:43 AM
Well, it takes me about 6 months to write and edit one to the point of me being happy with it. In between raising the girls and dealing with the hubby. Then throw in that the holidays are upon us and several birthdays. I can't find the quiet time to write when the girls are out of school either.

Yeah, it takes me a while. LOL I look forward to when the youngest is in school and I'll have all day, ALONE, to work. Woohoo!

hollie
October 22nd, 2008, 05:30 PM

I'm looking right now at the Australian bookstore I buy my books from to see if I can get book 2 Christie.

Well what do you know they have book 2. wOOhOO! I'm going to have to purchase it and get my fix of Alex and Fiona. LOL

ChristieSilvers
October 24th, 2008, 06:58 AM
If it's on Amazon Bec, never worry about how many are in stock. That's just a ploy to get people to order by making them think there aren't many left.

I saw one the other day that had the old version of A Midnight Infatuation saying that it would ship in 2-3 months. LOL Um, nope, cause that one is being replaced with the new version. LOL

hollie
October 24th, 2008, 08:28 AM
over here if it says 2-3 months it means it i got a book last week that was I pre-order and was released the start of september

ChristieSilvers
October 24th, 2008, 03:35 PM
Geez! What's the point in pre-ordering it then. LOL

On another crazy thought: A friend of mine pointed out to me this morning that some of my books being sold on Half.com for $60! smilies/aah.gif That is just moronic since people can easily hit Amazon, or my own site, for the regular price. I really hope no one is paying that much for my books.

CharmedGirl
October 24th, 2008, 03:40 PM
Well A Birth at Dawn is $42.99 on www.fishpond.com.au

ChristieSilvers
October 24th, 2008, 03:42 PM
ACK! Is that US dollars??

CharmedGirl
October 24th, 2008, 03:44 PM
Nope Australian dollars.

ChristieSilvers
October 24th, 2008, 04:17 PM
Hmmm, I wonder what that converts to. I'll have to go check.

CharmedGirl
October 24th, 2008, 04:51 PM
It'll be about 27USD Christie.

When I buy ebooks I always have to check out how much they're going to cost me because they're all in USD and I need to find out how much Australian dollars.

I use this site: http://www.xe.com/ucc/

ChristieSilvers
October 25th, 2008, 04:04 PM
That's still high, Bec. Is that with shipping or without? If it's with shipping then it's not bad.

Yes, I imagine you have to pay close attention when it comes that.

hollie
October 25th, 2008, 04:54 PM
I have to watch but usually i just half what the USD is but it sounds like your books are really popular

ChristieSilvers
October 25th, 2008, 05:16 PM
I wouldn't know why, no one knows me. LOL!! I don't mind though. However, it's probably cheaper for people to just order directly from me than to spend that kind of money in the stores.

hollie
October 25th, 2008, 05:26 PM

ChristieSilvers
October 25th, 2008, 05:30 PM

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao: Oh my, I've got tears in my eyes.

hollie
October 25th, 2008, 05:38 PM
well as much as its against nature to use the book fund for anything but books i really need to feed the kids untill they sort my cooker out

ChristieSilvers
October 25th, 2008, 05:46 PM
LOL, no I don't think you can make popcorn with my books. LOL Not unless you burn them and pop the popcorn over the flames. LMAO!

Saturn Moonie
October 25th, 2008, 06:06 PM

ChristieSilvers
October 25th, 2008, 08:35 PM
LOL! Well, that would never happen in my house. I won't even let the girls leave a book in the floors because "books are to be treated kindly and NOT left in the floor." That's what I'm always telling them anyway. LOL

CharmedGirl
October 26th, 2008, 06:41 AM
