So last night we did our annual pilgrimage to the Christmas tree lot to pick out this years specimen. The dimly lit lot was all piney and cold. xmastreeplugin

The twenty year old kid employee who followed us joked with my husband as I pointed and asked for a tree to be pulled away from its post and spun around.

My hubby rolled his eyes and said..."Here we go again."
"What?" I asked him while batting my long lashes his way.
Then he lifted his brow and said. "Whatever you want, dear."
Just about then the kid holding the tree laughed and said, "That's why you're still married, dude."
I laughed. Yes, the Christmas tree is all about me. We spend way too much money on what my 12 year old said and I quote, "Isn't it a $80.00 air freshener?"

I know I could buy an awesome, looks real, always perfect, never has a bad side tree. But I just can't do it.

So, how about you? Do you have a Real or Fake tree... And please tell us why.

LOL Catherine! I have a fake one. Have had it since my mom and dad passed away in the early 2000's -- I inherited it and need to get a new one but it has so many memories I am hanging on for dear life. I would LOVE a new freshly cut one!

There is nothing like the scent of pine in the house. But did you ever notice that the scent gets better as the tree dies? ugh

It's that pine oil. If you rub your hands along it, your hands will smell of it. I really am considering just buying a live one-- gosh, I feel so daring!

Kim, if buying a real Christmas tree is making you feel daring... You soooo need to read more books. grin

We have a fake tree these days because real ones make me itch badly. I'm allergic to them in the worst way. I love the smell of them though. Two more reasons we have a fake tree are (1) we have cats that climb the tree and will knock it over and (2) pine needles on the floor. Need I say more? LOL!

Nope, you said it all.

LOL... cats climbing up the tree and knocking lights down. Too damn funny.

Sorry 'bout the itch though. bummer. Ahh well, light a candle I guess.

Yeah, as it was we were picking up the tree every day because they would knock it over. We don't even put the "good" ornaments on it anymore.

As for the smell of pine, I have a spray from Bath & Body Works that smells pretty good and takes the place of the real tree smell.

It's all good for now. We'll be able to get the "good" ones out probably next year. :)

Good to know. Maybe you need to do some 'after christmas shopping' for more stuff?

I can't wait until the Boxing Day Sales. I'll be at the shops nice and early that day getting all the stuff I want that's on special. LOL smilies/bump.gif

I'm one of the few American's who even know what Boxing Day is. By cousin's hubby is British. We just have the 'after christmas frenzy.'
