Kindle - e-reader question...yet again.

My birthday is Friday... yeah me... and I'm thinking of making my hubby dig deep and buy me a kindle. I'm borrowing my friends right now to see if I like it. So far I'm like--- H#ll yeah! But I need to know if i'm going to be able to convert my pdf library of e-book in my computer to my kindle...
Does anyone know?

I don't know anything about the kindle but the sony will read PDF files with out any problems

mine doesn't I have the 505 but it doesn't need one it has this really nifty matt screen that means you can read it like a book in even in direct sunlight or a small lamp just like a real book.

I do believe that the newer sony has a back light but as i say i haven't found a time i can't use the 505 (and the battery lasts ages)

I love my Kindle II. I've downloaded several of my PDF version eBooks onto it (an easy and free process in which you actually email it away to be converted, then the converted file is emailed back, then you download it - or for a small fee, you can have it transmitted directly to your Kindle).

It's not back lit, but that doesn't bother me much. I have a book light and that works fine for me.

I highly suggest getting the leather case for it. It will help protect the screen and keypad.

No, I haven't decided. The thing is... I do have a lot of e-books... short ones because I don't care to sit in front of my computer to read outside of my writing.

But, I'd have to buy a lot of e-books to make the Kindle worth it... or the Sony. *sigh* Maybe I'll make a million with my books and this won't be anything to worry about next year.

No Bec... I haven't decided if I want the kindel or sony or e-reader. I'm told that Costco has the sony on the shelf. I'd like to hold it and see what it does before forking over the money... or making my DH fork over the money. grin

We had a great day however. I ate so much I won't step on the scale for a week for fear of the shock value. grin
