I started writing when I was about twelve. I'd just read one of Elaine Mitchell's brumby books (not the silver brumby series, one of the others) and I hated the ending. So I did what seemed the most natural thing to do--I rewrote it <g>. I haven't stopped writing since--though I have to admit, it's only in the last fifteen years that I've seriously thought about getting published. To date, I've completed a total of seventeen novels, (not counting the rewrite of Elaine Mitchell's!) although the first three will probably never see the light of day. I thought they were brilliant at the time, but looking at them now, I can only shudder. I still think the ideas are great, but basically, all three books would need to be entirely rewritten. Maybe I'll get back to them one day, when I have the time and nothing else to write. I'm a member of RWAustralia, the Princess Lulu Regrets crit group (don't ask about the name, because it's just unexplainable <g>), the Sock Monkeys, and the Monkeylint support group.
