Hello, I’m Hywela Lyn, although I’ve always been called Lyn and am quite happy to answer to that – it’s easier to pronounce than ‘Hywela’! I lived most of my life in Wales, where I was born and raised, and Welsh myths and legends inspired much of my writing. My stories usually take place in that ‘other world’ of fantasy which might be in the far past or the far future but which relies on the heroes and heroine's courage and quick wits to survive the trials before them. From an early age I had two great loves – books and horses. Nothing has changed, only now I write the stories I love to read and have two real horses of my own, rather than the imaginary ones I had as a child. I love the idea of space travel and starships, but I also like the idea of a tranquil world with little technology and a simple lifestyle. By writing science fantasy I can have it both ways!
