Default Do you prefer ebooks or printed books?

As ebooks are becoming the new wave of reading with awesome new technology like the new nook, sony and kindle eReaders, there are still die-hard readers who prefer the traditional printed books.
So are you someone who loves the convenience of downloading an ebook? Does the instant gratification give you a junkie-shot of "retail therapy"? Does the thought of saving the environment, knowing you are making a difference by saving paper and ink make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside? Or maybe you love the thought of buying a book cheaper, so you can get more bang for your buck? Who wouldn't love more romance stories?
Or are you a person who loves to roam the colorful aisles of bookstores. The smell of newly printed-paper filling your senses. Or when you reach the last page of the book, you can lovingly run your fingers over the embossed romantic cover and sigh with gratification.
So which do you prefer when reading a romance novel? Ebooks or printed books?
Electronic format or paper, a good novel is worth every penny.

For your choice of ebook or print, my erotic Celtic romance, Witch Hunter is available online now.

Hey Bec, how much did you pay for your eReader? I was trying to find one for my mom in Australia, but found they were so expensive down there. Have their prices come down?

Do you recharge it with a US/AUS adaptor? And do you have any problems downloading the ebooks?

If it works okay for you, I'll buy my mum one from the USA as well.

I have a Sony reader. I charge it through my laptop which is relatively easy.

But sometimes I have trouble downloading some books. Although it's nothing major. It's just that at times a book will not show the actual name of the book. It might say something like Microsoft Word - then the books name. Or sometimes the author mightn't show. But apart from that, it works really well.

I prefer ebooks because they're so much cheaper for me here in New Zealand. There's also the instant gratification factor. Print books can take months to make it down here. One thing that does really irritate me though are the geographical restrictions on some books.

I read my ebooks on a PDA or on my laptop, whichever is most handy or convenient. The other thing I like about ebooks is that they don't take up storage room!

I buy both e-books and paper books and see benefit of both. Paper is something tangible that I can hold, but I'm a book fiend and can read a lot of books--then...urp, where do I put them? I have boxes of books stacked up to the ceiling in my garage. Then I have my e-books, they are nice and tidy on my desktop and I find them with a click of a mouse. I love e-books because they are right THERE to purchase, I don't have to trudge through store after store to find the author whose stories I want to read. Instant read, basically, and I'm finding stories voices that are dynamic, voices that are original...I find even as a writer I'm getting away from paper submissions as well, a lot of time and money spent (doesn't mean I'm going to stop pursuing being paper published

If I may make a suggestion? If those books piling up in boxes in your garage are of the paperback variety, you might consider starting a 'guerrilla book club'. Print a bunch of labels to stick in the fronts of the books - something to the effect of "Please feel free to take this book with you to read and enjoy. When you are finished reading it, please leave it for another to read." You might also include an invitation for the discoverer to leave another book somewhere to share their reading enjoyment with others.

Take the books to airports, bus stations, train stations, even restaurants and hotels/motels. It's kind of fun to travel out of your own 'neck of the woods' and discover one of your books in an airport terminal or hotel lobby in another city and state! And it's the best way in the world to recycle!
