Thread: Sewing Sites

    Default Sewing Sites

Does anyone having sewing sites that they frequent? I am looking for a pattern to make a backpack. My daughter's friend has one but her mom no longer has the pattern.

Thanks for the sites. I will have to look at them and see if they are similar to the one that my daughters find has. The bag that she hasn't doesn't look to difficult but I am not an advid sewer either.

    Default I used to sew..

... but I gave it up for writing.

When my daughter was little, I made a lot of clothes for her because she appreciated them, but as she got too old and thought it was "uncool" I lost interest. I did a few things for my son but sewing for boys isn't as fun as sewing for girls!

I know..when and WHY do they wake up one day and go...oh Mom..I know you worked on this easter dress for me for 3 weeks daily...but I don't want something home made.

Yes that was oddly specific (grrrr)

It is rather sad that today "home made" is less valued than store bought.

However, my daughter is 18 now and she has made some of her own clothes, so maybe it helped set a precedence of sorts. She does it without a pattern, or by altering a pattern -- much more sewing skill than I have.
