Good afternoon everyone!
Now that it's lunch time, I've relocated myself down the street from The Dancing Mule to a resturant called The Village Inn. I ordered myself a cobb salad and unsweetened iced tea. They have the best salads!
For those who love time-travel...
When I'm in the middle of researching for my WIPs, I find myself elbow deep in books, websites, news articles about the Middle Ages and more often than not, Scotland. I get so engrossed in what I'm reading it's almost like traveling back in time.
If you can imagine, standing there with the author of the book watching the Battle at Stirling, or the corronation of the Scottish kings at Scone Castle. All of the romance of the past without the horrors...plague, garderobes, etc...etc...etc...
In some of my travels around Europe, I recall walking around the different castle grounds wondering what it was like in its days of glory. I'd close my eyes and could almost hear the hoof beats of the horses riding into the courtyard and the sounds of the hustle and bustle of the people about their daily work. The clash of metal against metal at the smithy's. The tremors of horses thundering towards each other on the list fields as the jousters engage and the roar from the crowd as they connect.
Sigh...what an era!
Pick up a book today and take your own travel back in time. It's always time spent well.
Haunts and kisses!
