My journey into MFM and MM romance was accidental, and to me, rather funny.

I saw a proposal at Ellora's Cave for am MFM anthology a few years ago. At that time, I didn't realize that the order of the letters was VERY important.

Indeed, I thought one lucky female got to be worshipped, adored, and loved by two besotted males - besotted with her of course. I never dreamed the men would want each other.

When my proposal was accepted, I was quickly informed that I was mistaken, that the men's relationship came first and the woman came in later.

That was "Pirate's Booty" in the "And Lady Makes Three" anthology at Ellora's Cave.

Guess what? That was my biggest seller to date. And it was a short story.

I was excited. I wanted to write more like it.

Then I wrote "The Perfect Gift" which came out at Total-E-Bound. That's about my third biggest seller of all time. (In case you wonder what my second biggest seller is, it's "American Beauty" at Ellora's Cave.) TPG is another MMF or maybe it would be an FMM as the female/male came first and then they added another male who is more interested in the first male than in the female - although he shares his wealth.

I was shocked at myself at first. Not because I'm a prude. Not because I'm against GLBT.

Then why?

Because I was once engaged to man who broke my heart when he told me he was bi, that he had a gay lover whom he fully intended to keep. I was 17 at the time and nowhere near as liberal as I am now. That smarted for a long time. I wasn't sure I'd ever get over that pain.

Writing MM and MMF has helped me get over that. Really. Once I started writing about it, getting into the minds and hearts of men who love other men and people who love more than one person, I didn't feel so bad.
