Good Day everybody. My name is Sunshine Brightman, from The Rat Of Fury, leading out the march of Jaded Beasts series. My Chinese name is actually Li Yáng Guang, but I've never been allowed to use that since I came to America as a little girl. My Uncle and Aunt wouldn't let me. Now I know why.
I wanted to come and ask Anna why she chose the symbol of the Rat as the Chinese zodiac sign to put me under? I mean a rat really isn't sexy. Why not a horse, or dragon? When I meditate and think about everything that happened that question still gets me.
Anna- Well, Sunshine. Once I read up on the animals represented in the Chinese horoscope, I really had no choice but to go with the rat. The people under the rat sign had all the attributes I wanted you to have, and needed you to have, to come through the epic journey I had planned.
I see, and what exactly would those traits be. I'm just an ordinary citizen, trying to live a normal life, before my Aunt and Uncle were killed, I was anyway. I'd been meaning to speak with you over that as well.
Anna- Here, see what I mean...The Rat- The Chinese astrological cycle begins with the year of the Rat; consequently those born within this category like to be first, pioneers, at the forefront of the action. Because of this, they tend to see themselves as a cut above the others. Restless and inquisitive, those born under the influence of the Rat are active, both physically and mentally, and tend to lead busy lives. Challenge is essential to them for they love the thrill of living dangerously, adapting easily to different environments and surviving against all odds. With clairvoyance, intuition, perspicacity and an eye for detail, Rats are formidable problem solvers, finding workable solutions to the knottiest problems.
Rats are able to control their feelings and will generally present a cool facade to the outside world, regardless of whatever volcanic emotions they may be feeling inside. But these are passionate creatures whose feelings can be deeply stirred and though able to control them as a rule, when the volcano does erupt, watch out! Perhaps one of their faults is their inability to actually talk about their feelings to those they love, and consequently they tend to repress them -- thus adding to the volcanic pressure. As well as being deeply passionate they are sensual creatures who simply exude sexuality and who greatly enjoy all forms of physical stimulation.
I guess when you put it that way...it took me a while to work out just what was happening to me in The Rat Of Fury, and you certainly gave me some heart break along the way. Just as well I am a seasoned Kung Fu and Tai Chi Juan expert. I really love the Tai Chi Juan, it completes me. How did you decide on that?
Anna- Again I used a lot of research to find a martial art worthy of you, and the person you must become. You aren't quite there yet you know. You and Pete may have to face danger again.
You mean you are writing another story for me? Pete might not like that, he's a pretty busy detective you know?
Anna- I am seriously thinking about it. I mean we still have baddie out there to catch, don't we? Lee Chang just walked away, surely you can't let him get away with that?
The question is, will he let me live in peace. I got the distinct impression he wants me dead. If he even tries to hurt Pete I'll do worse than change into The Rat Of Fury.
Anna- Never know what a disturbed person like that is likely to do...
Or a writer like you, never know what you'll dream up next.
Anna- You can be sure it will be a suitable challenge for your newfound powers, and love. There's a certain ancient Chinese warrior you will see again as well.
I'm not sure I like where this is heading...
Anna- Relax. No point in letting those years of training go to waste. Besides if you don't step in to save the day, who will?
Well, after the way the readers enjoyed the last suspense story of mine, I'm sure they won't argue with a sequel. Besides I'm getting a little restless...
