    Default Moonlight

    Moonlight
    by Ann Rought

    Your soft whispers
    are the waves’ voice
    spraying on the rocks.
    The sparkle in your eyes
    is silver moonlight
    on the sea.
    Your chest,
to which I press my cheek,
    is summer sand-
    and
    your love
is found on the salty breeze.
    Far gone…
    We kissed goodbye,
    but never touched,
    I reached out a hand
    and grasped only mist.

Oh, how beautiful. Don't you just love poetry that gives you the chills? Or makes you teary-eyed, either from happiness or sentimentality..

Thanks, Lila! I certainly do love poetry that pulls at the heart strings.

The imagery in this is magnificent and the emotions are powerful. You're a very talented poet. Elizabeth
