    Smile Artwork

When I'm not writing I work with arts and crafts. I make both cards and also paint. If you would like to see some of the pieces of work I have made in the past you can find examples here: Gallery

    Question

Lovely! I love the feel of this one

I don't know much about art, but I like how this 'feels' to me. Does that make sense?

    Karenne,

Yes I know what you mean when you say that you like the feel of the piece. Artwork is something that is personal to each person viewing it, and what causes one person to feel sad might not be the same piece as another person.

That piece was made using a technique called Encaustic, its actually wax that has been heated up and ironed on to form the various shapes. When I scanned the piece onto the computer it didn't look quite right so I flipped it from left to right and inverted the colours creating the piece you see there. Since you can place the wax on in layers you can actually create pieces of work that has a 3D feel to them, which is slightly lost in the scans but can be seen on the actual pieces.

oh wow. That is really neat.

I am glad you took the time to scan it so that I could see it.

I would love to see the 3d physical image.

Well actually I will be offering a piece of artwork made by myself as the top prize of a competition that will be based on my book when it comes out at the end of this month, so you might be lucky

I do a lot of work in ink too, there are some green men faces in that gallery that were done in inks. I love to draw dragons and I'd love to see some of your work. I have spent a while trying to draw various dragons in battle positions etc.. but my problem is that no mater what I do they all end up looking cute!

I don't paint! Can't draw stick figures LOL, but I love paintings.
Border Forts of Chak'yata - I love the colors. Palace of the Ice Dragon Lord - is beautiful..

    Great work!
