    Wink McCalls 2723 Home Decorating

Okay...So I decided (for some unknown reason) that I wanted an ironing board cover for my new ironing board. There was a sale on McCall's patters so I picked this one up.

Before you buy this...make sure you like dealing with bias tape...and especially around corners.

I also suggest that you make sure there is plenty of clearance between your pressure foot and your machine. This gets thick.

You will also have need to make sure your machine has a little bit of 'umph' behind it because you will need it.

The ironing board cover is made with elastic. If I had to make it again, I would make it with a draw string so that I can tighten it up. Make sure you measure and measure again while finishing up your ironing board cover.

I did make the sewing machine cover and the serger cover (I have no idea what I was thinking) but it turned out beautiful, but again...you are going to need some power in your machine.

Special Note: I suggest that you surger the seems BEFORE you put on the bias tape. This will make your life so much easier.

Anyway..here is what the covers look like on the serger (left) and sewing (right) machines:

I smile because I have no idea what is going on.

I love the material you chose. They both look great. I wish I could do something like that or even had the time to do it.

Okay, maybe I'm blind or maybe somebody evil deleted the link. LOL But I went to look at your pictures Karenne, and I can't see a link.....maybe it got deleted? I'd love to see what you did seeing as how I can't sew worth a darn either unless it's beads onto something! LOL
