In 2009, I signed a screen rights contract for The Widow-Maker with an independent Australian film-maker and began the process of turning a book into a film. There's been a few ups and downs along the way, and times when I wrote the project off completely, but I'm now reading the full film script and pondering how to condense the essential elements of the story into the projected shooting time.
It's great to be this involved.
A second piece of excitement is that I have a meeting on next Tuesday to discuss the implementation of the on-line writing course I wrote and designed into our Adult Education system. The senior people have expressed their enthusiasm for the project, but what happens next depends on a lot of things I have no control over.
Wish me luck!
