Danny Chambers worked hard at making his dreams come true. He’s now a choreographer and dancer for one of the world’s biggest pop stars. He’s also in love with Ashley, who happens to be his best friend and they’ve made the step to see where things will go. Now with the tour over he’s back home ready to continue with love but shocking allegations have rocked his world. Will Danny be able to get through the scandal and back on track with the woman who’s stolen his heart or will this derailment destroy his perfect world?

The knock on the hotel room door caught him off guard. He
hadn’t been expecting anyone to come by, especially since nobody knew
he was here. Danny was surprised to open the door and find Ashley
standing there in the hallway dressed in a strapless red dress with black
heels, her blonde hair pinned up with a clip, her lips matching her red
dress. She stood clutching her wristlet tightly with both her hands.
Everything about her was breathtaking. If he hadn’t known better, he
would think something was occupying her thoughts. Something seemed
off; she wasn’t her normal bubbly self.
He figured he was most likely imagining it. The tiredness was
catching up with him and he was probably mistaken. Brushing off the
thought, he smiled at her.
“Please come in,” he said and motioned her inside.
Once she stepped through the door, the scent of vanilla caught his
attention. She smelled so sweet, just as she always had.
He arched a brow. “What are you doing here? I was just getting
ready to come pick you up.”
He saw her hesitate to answer for a moment.
“I … I came by because I wanted to talk to you before we went
out. This couldn’t wait.”
Now he definitely knew something was up. He didn’t like the
sound of this. Was she here to tell him they needed time apart? Had she
met someone while he’d been away? Horrible scenarios ran through his
head. He knew that when a woman said she needed to talk to you and it
couldn’t wait, it usually wasn’t good news. More like a stall before the
“Is everything OK?” he said as he walked up to her and cupped
her warm cheek.
He saw her gaze fall to the floor. Her hands trembled as she stood
“Ashley, tell me, what’s going on? Have you changed your mind
about us? Is there somebody else?”
“No. How could you ever think that? You’re the only man I want
to be with,” she said as her gaze finally met his.
Her answer eased his worries a little bit, but he could still tell by
her behavior that something was eating away at her.
“I think I know what this all about. We hadn’t really talked about
where we stand after that night,” he said.
“Yes, but …”
