Xwriter Join Gianna Bruno and Friends for The Next Big Thing and Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

I've been nominated for The Next Big Thing by Andrew Richardson What an honor from a great writer of erotic romance and supernatural horror. And Alice Gaines, prolific erotic romance writer that puts me to shame will stop by as well. In fact, I think I'll nominate her for The Next Big Thing!

Join Andrew, Alice and I here 2/2/13 for a 24 hour forum event talking about--our next big things!

We'll have some giveaways, chat about reading and writing in general and get some great Valentine gift ideas. I now have an Amazon Author Page and Amazon Sellers Account. If you order both Hot Chocolate Kiss and The Journey I will send them in a special gift box with chocolates and personalize them. Be sure to put your requests on the order form.

You can also contact me directly (info and excerpts are on my blog) for special orders and requests.

Hope to see you all here Saturday.

I hope to be in and out tomorrow. I have to confess that I'm spending a three day weekend of sorts with friends to hear my favorite band, Tower of Power. No one does soul better. I'll probably be dragging tomorrow after the late-night concert.

If you want, check out my author page at http://www.amazon.com/Alice-Gaines/e...513&sr=8-2-ent

I'll be giving away paper copies of my Cabin Fever erotic romantic novellas from Avon.

    Default Welcome, Alice!

One of the things I love about these forum events--and doing it with you and Andrew, is all the little tidbits about people I learn. Tower of Power, huh? You go, girl. I'm doing much more mundane things today. Refrigerator broke and waiting for the new one to be delivered, shuffling kids (with my husband doing most of the shuffling) to and from their activities, freezing my behind off here in this drafty, old house...

Anyway, enjoy and see you later. Can't wait to hear more details about your day.

The concert was great, but I am NOT a night person. Hope to find an excerpt or two in a bit.

I expect to be around much of tomorrow, although the time difference here in the UK might mean I have to leave early. I'll be hoping to give away bits and bobs as well.

    See you Saturday!

Default Good morning, Andrew--or is it afternoon?

I'm so glad you can join me again for this twice yearly or so get together. I really appreciate you nominating me for The Next Big Thing. I've been largely absent from the published writing scene but that's because I've been writing My Next Big Thing.

Of course, you are one of the few people that know that since we are working writers, most of the writing goes on behind the scenes and we have to close ourselves off from the fun stuff like this in order to get those stories done.
Again, thanks for reminding the world that I really am still here and for all your hard work on reviewing those manuscripts.

And speaking of writing and The Next Big Thing, you've had a great year with several new contracts. And I've read them all--well at least the parts that wouldn't scare me.

    Don't be shy. Do tell.

Hello Gianna et al. It's 3pm here; my favourite time of the week because I'm sitting here at my PC with the radio on listening to the football. It does make a change to be at CTR rather than writing or at a match on a Saturday afternoon, though.

I look forward to hearing about your Next Big Thing.

Yes, I've had a bit of good fortune over the last twelve months; two horror novellas (one not yet published) and an erotic novelette (Art Class - thank you for reading a draft of it). I've nearly finished a sequel to Art Class - or at least a story with the same characters.

    Andrew

Yeah Gianna's News: The Sexy Seasons Series and Hot Chocolate Kiss

The weather around here has been wet and wild this year. On the heels of Hurricane Sandy we had a snowstorm. Then two or three (I've lost count) heavy rain and windstorms. Just last week 60 mph gusts 60 degree temerature and rains that felt like a hurricane all over again. Now its frigid again. Yikes.

But I just found out that Haystack, the mountain that Keela and Rick meet up at in a very typical Southern Vermont frigid windstorm is reopened! And I'm going up there in two weeks to ski The Witches again. Will it get me any more motivated to write the rest of the books in the Sexy Seasons Series? Well, I was in Salem at Halloween--so there is plenty of material there--how do you like the title Samhain Sampler? I've researched the surfing for the summery Sex on the Beach and am an avid hiker so writing Hot Spiced Cider shouldn't be a problem. Just need to apply butt to chair and fingers to keyboard.

But right now, lets keep to the season. Hot Chocolate Kiss is one of my favorite stories and the most gratifying response I've gotten to it is from guys. I don't want to brag but if you check out the Amazon reviews you'll see several guys (all unsolicited, I swear) weighed in. So I feel comfortable saying that it would make a nice Valentine's gift for a sports minded, romantic guy.

Here's the blurb and excerpt. Read it and stand by for a contest question.

Keela Branford’s passion for extreme winter sports, fueled by anger at a cheating soon to be ex-husband, drives her to brave sub-zero wind chills and break a lot of rules--including the one to never ski alone. There are just some battles that have to be fought despite the risks.

Keela doesn't think much of Rick Marston, a ski lift attendant who is brazen enough to question Keela's judgment. And she thinks even less of his invitation for a drink when she comes down from the summit. She's sworn off controlling jocks like her ex, and is determined to exorcise the demon of self-doubt inside her. Will Keela win the battle against The Witches waiting for her on the ski slopes? And will the heat between Keela and the man who gets in the middle rout them for good?

The blonde perched on a stool wore boots that looked like she’d strapped a husky dog to each leg. Keela doubted she had ever skied in her life. That sleek blonde ponytail wouldn't fit under a helmet, and she'd freeze her perky tits and tight ass off wearing that pink fleece jacket and black spandex pants.

She prattled out the usual disclaimers while processing the credit card transaction. "No refunds for conditions. The gondolas are closed due to high winds. Only the open chairs are going to the summit, and we might have to close them as well. The ski patrol has put up an extreme weather alert: no exposed skin, take frequent re-warming breaks."

Keela tried not to sound bitchy. This wasn't one of Ken's girlfriends. The kid was just doing her job. "Thanks for the tips."

After securing the $75.00 ticket on her parka and putting on every piece of protective equipment in her pack, she waddled out the door like a stuffed pig, sweating like one, too.
She knocked the ice off the bottom of her boots with her poles and clicked into the bindings. No matter who I’m with, it’s always me against the mountain—alone.
Keela skated over to the lift where the same guy she’d met outside the can was working. "It’s the Tuckerman lady." He winked and guided the chair under her butt.
She couldn't see the rest of his face but imagined him licking his lips.
The lift swept her up, and he called out, "Seriously, be careful. I’ll buy you a Hot Chocolate Kiss when you come down from the summit, sister."
I don't think so, dude. No more being treated like a buddy who happened to have a receptacle instead of a plug. No more schlepping boots and ski equipment, plus a backpack full of camping gear to the summit of Mount Washington , dodging rockslides and avalanches, to ski Tuckerman Ravine. No more romantic nights crammed into a lean-to, surrounded by a unisex cadre of other idiots, with a sleeping bag, thermals, and Gore-Tex to light her fire.
