I disappeared this month to finish the next book in the Seven Sin Sisters series. I entered that infamous "writer's cave" with my laptop and a box of tissues (allergies!). I wrote and wrote and wrote, rewarding myself occasionally with quick trips to facebook. I lived and breathed the characters, the story, and the series.
As a reader/ reviewer who met many authors, I never understood this concept when they talked about it... their writing cave. Wasn't that just an excuse to do nothing else? Now though, as an author, I completely get it. Immersing yourself into a story can make for better quality, and honestly when pushing a deadline sometimes this is your only choice. I'll finish this week and then take a few days off before I jump into the next book in the Heart & Soul series. With no deadline on this book, I expect to be able to avoid the cave for awhile now.
