I introduced you to my tiny little kitten Jet at the beginning of this year.
My, oh my what a time it's been!
Jet is about 8 months old now, and while she's just starting to mellow, she's still a kittenish handful!
And a total delight.
In these months I've come to realize I didn't adopt a kitten - I adopted an otter. Jet *loves* to play i water! I've never known a cat that liked splashing around in her water bowl, and if it's feathery or fuzzy, it's gonna get a bath at some point too. If she's going to play in the bowl, so are her toys. My sister thinks I should get her a miniature rubber ducky to put in there.
After fretting about my poor kitty being without water because she kept spilling her water bowl, I finally gave in to the inevitable and bought a big spill-proof bowl and we've come to an understanding. She gets to play, I get to mop when I get home. I think I'm on the losing end of this one, but it's worth it if the water keeps her entertained while I'm slaving in the mines, 8-5.
As far as the countertop battle, I am currently claiming victory, but I suspect the war is far from over!
She still lacks an adult's complete control of her body or full judgment of distances and place, so I have to admit to enjoying her mishaps when she goes to jump on one of my director chair bar stools and just doesn't quite get the distance right. The struggle to either pull herself up or fall gracefully to the floor has proven to be very entertaining.
