Darlene and Lynette are two vampires in a rut.  Worse than that according to their
maker, the Compte Du Montnoir, a boring rut.  In fact, they are being nominated for the
Most Dull and Boring Vampire award, and he cannot stand the embarrassment.  As
such, he orders them to get out in the world and bring some excitement into their lives.  
Directing them to Happy Humping, a local sex toy shop, where the two meet two
exciting and very sexy men.

Mardi Ballou has a great sense of the absurd.  Her sense of humor is really what
makes her stuff so fun to read.  Interspersed with excerpts of purple prose from Darlene
and Lynette's books are incredibly hot contemporary sex scenes.  The juxtaposition is
done with intelligence and a tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Lynette and Darlene, despite looking 23, are aging hippies who had essentially been
living life on auto pilot.  Their relationship with each other is sweet and funny, just what a
thirty something year long friendship would be.  

Nick is the sweetheart guy who reads Romeo and Juliet but has a few dark, kinky
fantasies that Lynette is only too happy to fulfill for him.  Jon is the hard edged dom who
is taken totally off guard when he discovers that his innocent sub is actually a vampire
who could snap him in two if she so desired.  Each man must war with himself to find a
way to be with the women they are fast coming to love.  

Young Vampires in Love has a bit of something for every sexual taste from light to
moderate bondage to some pretty hot sex toy play, and it is all done well.  Lovers of
paranormal romantica, as well as those who like a few hearty laughs with their spicy
sex scenes, will enjoy Young Vampires in Love as much as I did!
