Seb Bridges met Libby in med school. After graduation they wed and intended on having a lifetime marriage, both loving each other and their jobs. When their work became the first issue in their lives, things suddenly shifted. Seb can only hope they can work out their differences before Libby decides to end their relationship.

Libby Bridges wanted it all; a great job, a loving husband, and perhaps one day, a family. After getting their own practice she was certain things would slow down, until Seb transferred to another location. The separation was more than she could handle and she knew it was time to ask for a divorce.

Libby thought about calling Seb on the cell phone and announce her arrival, then decided to just arrive and confront him. He would only ask what the reason was and she did not wish to discuss a divorce by phone. After eight years of marriage, for the past twelve months their lives have gone in different directions. When she arrives at his work area and sees how he is in the thick of things, it hits her; this is what Seb enjoys. Before she is able to get serious with him, an accident occurs with casualties arriving after a tanker collides with an oil rig, injuring dozens. The tanker happened to be carrying highly toxic chemicals. Libby feels she needs to offer her assistance so she pitches in and helps. She is introduced to Cathy Watts, the senior charge nurse to the unit. Libby has no idea why she thinks Seb could be involved with the woman; perhaps it is just human instinct. The closer she aids Seb in this disaster, the more she realizes she is still in love with him and wonders could they have a relationship with only a few hours with each other? Seb has a feeling why Libby is really there, but hopes his intuitions are wrong. He loves Libby with a passion, and with the catastrophe facing him, the agony is nothing compared to the thought of losing his sweet Libby. When she finally admits it is best they divorce, and another calamity strikes, Seb fears he has lost the only thing that mattered in his life.

A Night To Remember is a heart pounding, heart-tugging read that had this reader with fingers crossed that this marriage stayed intact. Sure the medical field with the injured people is a good addition to the story, but just watching the efforts of Libby and Seb in their actions and emotions made this one dramatic read. I especially loved how Ms. Taylor molded her characters and made them vulnerable, especially Seb in his struggles as he tries to help others, while considering the feelings of Libby. He is serious about his marriage. Even Libby was willing to sacrifice part of a life with him to keep their marriage secure. Human traits, believable events, and emotions that run high make this a most extraordinary read.
